OVERVIEW
A physician and his wife approached Better Kitchens to help them remodel their twenty year old Glenview custom home. The client, Dr. Vij, had suffered from Polio as a child and took this opportunity to install a residential elevator spanning the home’s three floors.
CHALLENGE
The configuration of the existing home provided both an aesthetic and structural challenge for the the insertion of an elevator.
SOLUTION
Better Kitchens worked with the elevator company and a structural engineer to design a solution that allowed the placement of an elevator from the basement, through the foyer and into the hallway of the master bedroom.
